Step 06b: Turbine with Telemetry

If you connect a JetCat turbine with bidirectional VBar telemetry, you're in luck. The complete basic programming of the turbine takes place automatically in the Heli Setup. Learning throttle throws and modes with the stick is a thing of the past!

First, set the output signal. 72Hz is completely sufficient here, more doesn't make sense since this is a constant signal. As soon as the output signal is set, switch off the model.

Now load the necessary apps onto the VBar Control, that would be the respective turbine app (currently only JetCat). Then connect the turbine and telemetry to the VBar Follow the instructions of the turbine manufacturer - e.g. NO plus connection is established on the telemetry side!

Now switch the model back on. The ECU may still need to be informed (GSU) that it has connected the VBar telemetry.

Wait until the turbine logo appears in the "active" button before continuing the processing - then the communication is fully established with all values. In the model setup (edit model setup) the turbine should now be visible at the bottom. Here, under Governor type, select the only button. Here both the ECU and VBar are programmed in one go!

Nothing else needs to be set, the ECU provides us with the gear ratios etc. via telemetry!

If someone also wants to mount their own RPM sensor for display/log etc. - they can configure this under "RPM from VBar".

We close the setup and long-click on the turbine icon at the top, so we can complete the settings like tank volume and alarms. That's it here.
